Alerts & notifications

Know when a bot needs you, and when it does not.

Bots run on Jassrox servers while you are away. When one stops, pauses, or hits a risk limit, an alert lands in your feed with what happened and what to do.

In short

What alerts does Jassrox send?

Jassrox sends an alert when a bot stops on an error, is auto-paused by a loss limit, is stopped by the account drawdown limit, or has a position closed outside the platform, plus informational alerts when a price feed drops or recovers. Every alert is saved to your alerts feed so you can review it later, and it can also be delivered as a push notification to a device you have registered.

The feed

How the alerts feed works

Saved, not fleeting

Each alert is stored on your account, so one missed while you were away is still there to read.

Unread count

An unread badge shows in the app until you open the feed.

Needs you vs information

Filter the feed to the alerts that need action, or to the informational feed changes.

Quiet on retries

A temporary broker failure that is retried automatically is reported once per half hour, not every time.

Alert types

What each alert means and what to do

Alerts that need you are shown with a warning mark; information alerts stay quiet.

Jassrox alert types, what they mean and what to do
Bot stoppedNeeds youThe bot stopped on an error, or its protective stop was hit and it closed its lots. A temporary broker failure is retried automatically.Read the reason on the bot's page. If it says retrying is automatic, wait; otherwise fix the cause and restart.
Bot stopped permanentlyNeeds youSeveral broker failures in a row; automatic retries have ended.Check the broker connection and account, then restart the bot by hand.
Bot auto-pausedNeeds youA loss limit you set on the bot was reached, such as its auto-pause drawdown.Review the open position and the limit. Resume only if you still want the bot running.
Drawdown limit hitNeeds youAccount equity fell below your maximum drawdown from its peak. New orders are blocked and bots' positions are closed.Review the account and your account risk settings before starting bots again.
Position closed outside JassroxInformationA position held by a bot was closed at the broker by something other than the bot. The real result is recorded.Nothing, if you closed it. If you did not, check who else has access to the trading account.
Price feed unavailable / recoveredInformationThe bot could not get prices for its symbol, or the broker rejected a quote; later, that prices are back.Usually nothing. Positions are re-checked when prices return.
Autopilot is holding / Market data restoredInformationAutopilot paused new entries because data it needs was missing; open positions and exits were still managed.Nothing. Autopilot resumes new entries by itself once the data is back.
Live price streaming degraded / recoveredInformationThe streaming price feed went stale and the bot fell back to regular price polling, or streaming is healthy again.Nothing. This is not an error and the bot keeps trading.

Risk stops

Which alerts come from your risk settings?

A risk-stop alert is one raised because a limit you configured was reached. The per-bot auto-pause drawdown produces “Bot auto-paused”, and the account's maximum drawdown from peak produces “Drawdown limit hit”. Both are set on the risk management side of the workspace, so the alerts describe your own rules being enforced.

Plainly

What it does, and what it does not

It does

  • Records every stop, auto-pause and drawdown stop as an alert on your account.
  • Says in each alert what happened and, where it matters, what to do.
  • Groups automatic retries so a flaky broker connection does not flood you.
  • Tells you when a bot's position was closed outside Jassrox.

It does not

  • Send trade signals or tips to act on.
  • Replace checking your account. Leveraged trading can lose money between alerts.
  • Restart a permanently stopped bot for you.
  • Alert on every single fill; your bots' trades are on their own pages.

FAQ

Questions people ask

All questions

How will I know if my trading bot stops?

Jassrox writes an alert to your account's alerts feed whenever a bot stops on an error, is auto-paused by a loss limit, or is stopped by the account drawdown limit. The unread count shows in the app until you open the feed.

What does "Bot stopped permanently" mean?

The bot stopped after several broker failures in a row and will not retry by itself any more. Check the broker connection and the bot's page, then restart it yourself when the cause is fixed.

Why did my bot stop and then start again on its own?

A temporary broker failure stops a bot and Jassrox retries it automatically after a short wait. The first stop in a half-hour window is reported with a note that retrying is automatic; repeats in that window are not, so a flaky connection does not flood you.

What happens when the account drawdown limit is hit?

New orders are blocked and your bots' remaining positions are closed because account equity fell too far below its peak. You get a "Drawdown limit hit" alert. Review the account and your risk settings before restarting anything.

Do I get an alert if a position is closed in MetaTrader by hand?

Yes. If a position a bot holds is closed outside Jassrox, you get a "Position closed outside Jassrox" alert and the broker's real result is recorded on the bot.
