TradingView alerts

Let your chart switch the bot on and off.

Point a TradingView alert at a bot's private webhook URL. When the alert fires, the bot starts or stops on Jassrox servers against your MT5 account.

In short

How do TradingView alerts work with Jassrox?

A TradingView webhook alert is an HTTP message TradingView sends when your alert condition is met. In Jassrox, every bot has its own webhook URL; an alert sent to it with the message {"action": "start"} starts the bot, and {"action": "stop"} stops it.

The bot's strategy then trades by its own rules, inside the risk limits you set.

Payload

What goes in the alert message

The alert message is a small JSON object with one field, action, set to start or stop. Anything else is refused. Paste it into the Message box of the TradingView alert exactly as shown, with straight double quotes.

Alert messageJSON
// start the bot
{"action": "start"}

// stop the bot and close its positions
{"action": "stop"}
The two messages a bot's webhook accepts.

Set up

How to connect a TradingView alert

  1. 01

    Create the bot in Jassrox

Set up the bot with its strategy and risk controls on a demo or live MT5 account, and check its configuration before linking any alert.

  2. 02

    Copy the bot's webhook URL

Open the bot's page and copy the URL in the TradingView webhook card. It contains a secret token unique to that bot.

  3. 03

    Create the alert in TradingView

In the alert's notification settings, turn on Webhook URL and paste the address you copied.

  4. 04

    Set the alert message

Put exactly {"action": "start"} or {"action": "stop"} in the alert's Message field, then save the alert.

What each action does

Start and stop, as if you pressed the button

start

Starts the bot, exactly like the Start button. A deleted bot cannot be started by an alert.

stop

Stops the bot, exactly like the Stop button: it stops trading and closes out the positions it manages.

Protection

How the webhook is protected

A webhook URL works without a login, so it is guarded in several independent ways.

Secret per bot

The URL carries a long random token unique to one bot. It reaches that bot and nothing else.

TradingView origin only

Requests are accepted only from TradingView's published webhook addresses.

Rate-limited

Each bot's URL accepts up to 30 requests a minute, so a flood cannot hammer it.

Rotate any time

Regenerate the URL on the bot's page. The old one stops working immediately.

Plainly

What it does, and what it does not

It does

  • Starts or stops one specific bot when a TradingView alert fires.
  • Runs the bot on Jassrox servers, so neither TradingView nor MT5 needs to stay open.
  • Keeps every risk control on the bot and account in force.
  • Lets you rotate a leaked webhook URL in one click.

It does not

  • Place individual buy or sell orders from the alert text.
  • Read prices, quantities or symbols from the alert message.
  • Turn an alert into a guaranteed profitable signal. Leveraged trading can lose money.
  • Accept alerts from anywhere other than TradingView's servers.

FAQ

Questions people ask

All questions

How do I connect a TradingView alert to an MT5 bot?

Create the bot in Jassrox, copy the webhook URL from its page, paste it into the TradingView alert's Webhook URL field, and set the alert message to {"action": "start"} or {"action": "stop"}. When the alert fires, the bot starts or stops on the server.

Can a TradingView alert open a specific buy or sell order?

No. An alert controls the bot, not individual orders: it starts or stops it. Once running, the bot's own strategy decides entries, exits and sizes under your risk settings.

What happens when a stop alert arrives?

The same as pressing Stop on the bot's page: the bot stops trading and closes out the positions it manages, and the result is recorded on the bot.

Is the TradingView webhook secure?

Each bot has its own unguessable token in the URL, requests are only accepted from TradingView's published webhook servers, and each URL is rate-limited. If a URL leaks, regenerate it on the bot's page and the old one stops working at once.

Do I need to keep TradingView or MetaTrader open?

No. TradingView sends the alert from its own servers and the bot runs on Jassrox servers against your MT5 account, so your computer can be off.
