How to run a trading bot on MetaTrader 5 without coding or a VPS

Most people meet MetaTrader 5 automation through Expert Advisors (EAs). They work, but the setup has more moving parts than it first appears. Knowing what each part is for makes it easier to decide which ones you actually need.

The traditional route

An Expert Advisor is a program that runs inside the MetaTrader terminal. It reads prices, applies its rules and sends orders. You either write it in MQL5, generate one with a visual builder, or buy one from a marketplace.

The terminal has to stay open and connected for the EA to run. That is why many traders also rent a virtual private server (VPS): a remote Windows machine that stays on around the clock.

  • The EA: the strategy logic, written in MQL5 or exported from a builder.
  • The terminal: MetaTrader 5, logged in to your broker account.
  • The VPS: a machine that keeps the terminal running when your own computer is off.

What can go wrong

Each piece is another thing to keep working. A VPS needs paying for and updating, a terminal can disconnect, and an EA bought or downloaded elsewhere is hard to audit if you cannot read the code.

Settings are also easy to get wrong. Many EAs expose dozens of inputs, and a wrong lot size or magic number can cause losses before you notice.

The no-code, no-VPS alternative

Jassrox connects to your MetaTrader 5 account through a connection provider instead of running inside your own terminal. You pick a strategy from a form, set its parameters, and the bot runs on our servers, so it keeps going when your laptop and phone are off.

Your funds stay with your broker. Jassrox only sends orders to your account, using the credentials you provide, and you can stop a bot or disconnect the account at any time.

  • No MQL5 code: choose from eight ready-made strategies.
  • No VPS to rent or maintain: the bot engine runs server-side.
  • Start on a free $10,000 demo account before connecting a real one.

Before you go live

Run any bot on a demo account first, whichever route you take. Watch it through at least one volatile session, check that the lot sizes match what you intended, and only then connect a live account with a small balance.
