In short
What is the Support & Resistance strategy?
The Support & Resistance bot buys when price comes down to the most recent confirmed swing low and closes as price nears the most recent confirmed swing high, or at its stop-loss or take-profit.
On Jassrox, Support & Resistance runs server-side on your connected MetaTrader 5 account, so your computer can be off. Like every strategy on the platform, it can lose money; test it on the demo first.

Mechanics
How does Support & Resistance enter and exit?
The rules below are what the Support & Resistance engine does on every tick, in plain words.
Entry
How it enters
Swing lows and highs are confirmed pivots: a point counts only after a set number of prices on each side. When price approaches the latest confirmed swing low from above, within the bounce tolerance, the bot buys. An optional filter ignores pivots too shallow relative to the instrument's Average True Range.
Exit
How it exits
The position closes as price approaches the latest confirmed swing high, or at the stop-loss or take-profit, whichever comes first. It can also flatten before the weekend or a daily break.
Market conditions
When does Support & Resistance fit, and when does it struggle?
No strategy suits every market. These are the conditions its rules assume, and the ones that break them.
Tends to fit
- Ranges with clear, repeatedly tested floors and ceilings
- Instruments with enough volatility for swing levels to mean something
Tends to struggle
- A level that breaks: the bounce becomes a loss at the stop
- Quiet markets full of shallow ripples that look like levels
Configuration
Which settings matter most?
Each bot can start from an AI preset, a plain-English description or manual values. These are the settings to understand before you start.
- Pivot windows
- How many prices on each side confirm a swing low or high.
- Bounce tolerance
- How close, in percent, price must come to support to enter.
- Stop-loss and take-profit
- A fixed percent or pips, or ATR multiples when ATR sizing is on.
- ATR pivot filter
- Optional: require a pivot to be a meaningful depth relative to ATR.
Risk
What can go wrong with Support & Resistance?
Confirmed levels can still break. Use a tolerance appropriate for the symbol and an explicit exit if the level fails.
- Support can break, and the stop is what limits the loss.
- Confirmation needs hindsight, so levels appear only after some delay.
- Results depend heavily on the symbol's current volatility.

How the New Bot wizard describes it
Labelled "experimental" in the New Bot wizard: results have varied widely with each market's volatility.
Account-wide risk limits (daily loss, weekly loss, drawdown from peak and symbol exposure) apply on top of the strategy's own exits.
FAQ
Questions about Support & Resistance
How does the bot decide what support is?
It uses confirmed swing lows: a low counts once enough prices on both sides of it are higher. The most recent such low is the support level it watches.
What happens if support breaks?
The bot does not average down. The position closes at its stop-loss, so set a stop that sits beyond the level by a margin suited to the symbol.
How is this different from Breakout & Retest?
Support & Resistance trades bounces inside a range near its floor. Breakout & Retest trades a range breaking above its high and the retest of that level.
